Cirque Du Soleil's Quidam arrives to Sao Paulo

Quidam

This Friday arrives to São Paulo the new worldwide tour of the famous Cirque du Soleil. This year, the Canadian theater group, brings the acrobatic show Quidam (released in 1996). The show has already been seen by 9 million people in 20 countries.

Divided into ten acts, Quidam brings together 50 artists from 15 different nationalities. Among them are: acrobats, gymnasts, clowns, actors, musicians, singers, dancers and varied circus performers.

The assembly uses more than 250 costumes and 500 objects. Among the figures is the "Banquine", originating in the Middle Ages, in which 15 artists form human pyramids in a synchronized way.

Children's games also inspires Quidam. One is the "diabolo", composed by four young Chinese artists to balance and handle a spool on a string held up by rods.
