The 2nd edition of the Sao Paulo Indie is full of novelty. The highlight is a retrospective of the Japanese cult director Koji Wakamatsu, with films never seen here. Among them: Secrets Behind The Wall and United Red Army, who rescues a significant militancy moment of terrorist in Japan. Wakamatsu is one of the most celebrated directors of pinku eiga — typical low-budget erotic films from the small island in the East. There are 40 movies, divided between the World Show, Nippon Connection on Tour, Premiers Films and Underground Music, which includes Sonic Youth: Sleeping Nights Awake.
